How TimeSavers handles the personal data it is responsible for.

KitchenSavers is a product of TimeSavers. This notice covers the personal data TimeSavers is responsible for as a controller: your account, your billing contact details, what you write to support, and the security and error logs we keep to run the service.
Where we are responsible, and where your kitchen is
The records a kitchen keeps about its own staff — who completed which check, when, and any corrections — belong to the kitchen. It decides that they are kept and for how long; we process them on its instructions, under the Data Processing Agreement. If you are a cook asking about those records, ask your employer first.
Your account itself is ours to answer for: the email you sign in with, your role, your display name and photo, and which business you belong to.
What we hold, and why
- Your account
- Email, role, display name, photo. Needed to give you access to the account your business pays for. Kept for the life of the account.
- Sign-in records
- Magic-link requests, the device you signed in from, and PIN sign-ins at a kitchen tablet. Needed to sign you in and to show a kitchen who was on its tablet. Tablet sessions are cleared after 90 days.
- Billing
- Contact details and subscription history. We invoice you directly and take no card payments in the app, so we never hold your card details.
- Support messages
- Whatever you send us, kept while it is useful for answering follow-ups.
- Support access log
- Every time one of our staff opens a kitchen's records we record who, when, and the reason they gave. The kitchen can read that log. We keep it after an account is deleted, because it is the record that we behaved.
- Error reports
- Technical context when something breaks, scrubbed of personal data before it leaves the app, held in the EU for 90 days.
We do not sell personal data, we do not profile you for advertising, and we make no automated decisions about you.
Who else handles it
Our sub-processors, what each one handles and where, are listed on the sub-processors page. We give 30 days' notice before adding or changing one. The database and the application servers are in London.
Cookies
KitchenSavers sets no advertising or analytics cookies, which is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to refuse that would leave a working app. Three cookies are necessary to run it.
- Your session
- Set when you follow a sign-in link, and holds your signed-in session until you sign out or it expires.
- Device check
- A signed random identifier for the browser you signed in from, so a sign-in link only works on the device that asked for it. It carries no name, email or location, and lasts a year.
- Tablet sign-in
- Marks that somebody is signed in at a kitchen tablet. Scoped to that kitchen's screens, and lasts an hour.
Your rights
You can ask us to show you the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or send you a copy in a portable form. Write to privacy@timesavers.gg. We answer within one calendar month, running from the later of receiving your request and confirming who you are.
You can complain to the Office of the Data Protection Authority in Guernsey at any time.
